ignition switch removal
1961 F250. I have my ignition key stuck in the switch with the key stuck in the ON position. I understand that to remove the tumbler a paperclip is inserted thru the small hole in the tumbler with the key in the Accessory postion. What do you do when you can't get to that postion? I have tired graphite, WD 40, etc. No luck. Is this the time to see a lock smith?

Well, it can be removed, but your going to destroy the bezel in the process. If the key is broken off in the lock, get a flat screwdriver about the right size and see if you can turn it all the way to the left. Insert a paperclip and remove the cylinder. Now the switch will push forward (from behind the dash) and turn it to the left (maybe right).
If the key is not in the lock, pay the lock smith or just buy a new switch bezel (20$)
