how much $$ 04 plug change

How much are people paying to have plugs and wires changed on 04 f-150's?
I had a dealer say $500.00 and $50.00 for every broken plug. Im in Ma if anyone has had them changed wondering what they paid???

Here in Los Angeles, Galpin Ford quoted me $900.00

That was absurd. Ended up doing it myself for under $150.00 -- including a 6-pack.

I had a local garage do mine because I didn't want the headache of breaking one. So they changed 3 and broke the 4th off in the motor. They then said they couldn't finish it because they didn't have the tool to get the broken plug out... So they gave me the plugs at cost (3 were installed and 5 in the box) and they charged me $300 +/- for the work they did....... But the truck still had one plug broken off in it and needed the rest changed but was not operational... So I had to have it towed the closest ford dealer I could(45miles away) and have them finish the job at another cost of $400+/- at least I had AAA who towed it for free, if not I would have another $200 in the tow job and it would be approaching $1000...

In the end I would have been better off doing it myself and saving some $$$ but its done now and I doubt I'll ever need to do it again... Had I known the local garage would have had that bad of an issue I would have brought it to the ford dealer to begin with but they said it wouldn't be a big job and they "know fords well" I guess not.....

Here in North Dakota

Had a local dealer do mine for 500 bucks roughly. Stated all of them broke off.
2004 5.4 with 74000 miles at the time.

When it comes time to do this, I will definitely doing it myself. I'm not paying some supposedly certified dealer mechanic to break them off and me have to pay for his mistake.

Just did a 2005 5.4L Plugs Champion $72 Plug boots $16 Lisle tool $60 It took about 3 hours my first one of these and 4 of 8 broke off .
I would easily do this again in 2 hours even if all 8 broke off .
I would also do it for $300 Parts and Labor.

I was quoted around $300 if none broke, then a half hour labor for each broken one. Said one guy had his changed the week before was about $700. That was one of their highest ones.
