Is mine a highboy?
Hey, I just baught a 78 3/4 4x4 last night. Go back to get it tomorrow, I was wondering how you can tell if it is a highboy or not, Are all the 4x4's called highboys or do they have different leafe springs or something? I just wanna know how i can tell. An also did i get a good deal, It is a one owner truck, The guy is about in his 60's so u know it was never run hard, It is mint, the cloth in the floor dont have a stain or anything on it. It has 20,000 miles on a rebuild and was a daily driver till he baught a toyota tacoma. I got it for $1150, Is that high, cheap or about right??

No HB's made after the middle of the 77 model year. The xfer case was moved up behind the trany and the power steering was converted over to normal power steering. Either your friend doesn't KNOW the real value of the truck, or he just wants to convert it into money ASAP , or , maybe there is some problem that he is aware of that you haven't Discovered YET. All in all that is a very good price, in my opinion. It is definitely NOT a highboy. Good luck with your truck. fd
