Ive seen some diesels around me with like black covers over their grill, what are they for?
I heard the help the motor heat up
Does anyone have one?
How much do they run for our trucks ?

Thanks,

Helps warm up the engine.

I was gonna get one made, but never did. There is a guy near me that does custom upholstery (spelling?) and a lot of stuff for boats.

Never really shopped around for one... hmmmm

They are just another way to help the motor stay warm so it doesnt cause gelling. I dont run one up here in Wisconsin but you might be in a colder state/location. its all preference.

I have seen alot of buses with them. Does it make like the heat in the truck hotter faster aswell?
Because if it does this may have to be a needed cause i hate waiting for the truck to heat up enough so i can have warm air.

We used to do the same thing by putting something in front of the radiator (behind the grill). It is less noticeable that way and you don't have the snaps or velcro sticking to your grill. I think I may try painting a piece of plastic poster board black and hanging it off the header panel to see how well it works. The truck takes way too long to warm up when it is cold outside. Plus I just don't care for the look of the big canvas covers on the front end of the truck. It makes it look like a school bus IMO.
