Running light problem

Yesterday I hooked my water temp gauge to the ol girl and she runs at a decent temp anyway my issue is after hooking the light for the gauge to it now I'm losing my running lights and dash lights.... Maybe I don't have a good enough ground? This is only the second trip longer than 10 minutes I have made with this truck... With lights on! Or maybe it's the temp wire laying across wires? I have it in the pilar gauge I bought for my other truck I like where it's at but so far all I'm having is problems

I wired it into my fuse panel. no problems. Wire it into that and see if it stops.
