Is it just a coincidence or normal that sometimes an ad banner coincides with some of my Google searches? I Googled "under counter beverage/wine coolers", and low and behold, a banner shows up on the side of each FTE forum that I visited. Just wondering.
Touché, how did I know that would come up! So as a supporter, you get absolutely zero ads? BTW, one can supposedly "opt out" of Google Ads Prefferences that show up on this site.
You still get the "Sponsored Post" ads, and the big block of FTE sponsers on the top of the page, even if you are supporter.
Ad Block Plus makes those go away too.
People with Ad Block Plus don't talk about Ad Block Plus.
I was once asked kindly by site staff by PM to not discuss ways to avoid revenue generators.
After my post was edited to remove my mention of Ad Block Plus.
NOT TRUE! I am a supporter and I still get ads. They come in the form of threads...like "Nitro Tires" etc............ So if you become a supporter (wich I hope you do), you will still get SOME ads.

I don't mind those "ads", I do not like the banner ads that this thread refers to.
I guess the "thread ads" are better than the in your face ads that non supporters have to deal with, and you don't need to read the thread ads.
IB has to pay for this "free" site some how, I would do the same to generate
Cash too if I were in charge.
To answer the OP's question, yes. A cookie gets stored on your machine and then when you visit another site it will serve up ads for things you recently searched for.
The whole idea is to drive to to a site where you will exchange money for something you looked at, with the site that directed you getting a piece of the action.
