factory antenna
Is there anything I can do to modify my radio antenna to work better, I get a lot of static every now and then, stations fading in and out, etc. or is there a anything aftermarket that would work.

That depends on if the antenna is the problem in the first place. You may not necessarily be able to add devices to solve a problem of something missing in the chain.
It could be the connection between the antenna mast and the coax, it could be in the coax itself, or it could be a problem in the radio head unit.
What radio band are these problems occurring? That should begin to narrow down what kind of noise problems you are having.
