1997 F-350 headlight switch problem

I have a 97 F-350 4x4 with a 460 and 5 speed. Without my headlights on my speedometer does not work, nor does the dome light. when the headlights are on the marker lights are not. I thought the light switch was bad so I bought another just to find out the new one didnt work either. All together I tried 4 new switches to no avail. If you pull the switches all the way out for lights you will have headlights only. Thats it! No marker lights and no speedo. What gives??? Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have a meter or testlight? You need to test the tan/white wire going to the headlight switch with the switch out and the headlights on. The tan/white is what feeds the marker lights.
