1970 390 ignition issues
First time on site but hoping I'm doing this right. I have a strange problem with my 70 F250 390... it wants to stall and not run at all.
At first I thought it was vapor lock, but the gas pumps fine through the stock 2bbl. After stalling out, it will cool down and start, but the last time it stalled it won't run at all but occasionally misfires. Perhaps now the plugs are fowled to the point of not firing at all?
The issue appears to be related to the ignition, since the spark barely jumps off the coil wire and is weak. I have replaced the distributor with a rebuilt stock unit (points, rotor, condensor, wires ,etc all new). Then I replaced the coil, and the spark is still very weak. I've checked all the connections, timing, point gap but everything seems ok...except the spark off the coil is weak.
any other ides?
thanks
