Allocation or too busy?

You guys are going to have to put up with me for a few weeks.......

Ordered last Saturday and am patiently waiting (not). Order did not get picked up this week (info thanks to info from member here, thanks for the info).

How does the system work? I presume they build XX at a time and take the new orders in the order they come in? Do they pick up some amount of orders every week? My dealer is an average size dealer and I have no clue how they rank in the allocation scheme.

Sorry, this is going to be a long 6-8 weeks........... Have to pass the time by buying stuff......Am going to see if I can order the cap in advance....

All of us who ordered have been thru the wait game. Mine was supposed to be 6-8 weeks but ended up being 12 weeks minus one day. The wife almost called about getting me committed.

I had a lot to keep me busy as I was either on the phone traveling to the bed manufacturer or to the bed installer. My bed/hitch configuration was a new thing for both, but they were eager to do the job and get it right. Also ordered another RDS aux tank. This time I added Airtex pump, 12 volt shutoff valve and Wix fuel filter/water separator to the system. So, checking prices and ordering kept me from going crazy while waiting. I also was working with Pullrite to insure the Super 5th would work with the bed design.

So, I had other things going on to keep me from agonizing over the wait. A lot of the guys here helped me think about other things while I was waiting for the truck and told me I'd be SO happy when it came in. THEY WERE RIGHT!!! A GREAT TRUCK. And everthing that was designed and engineered for the bed/hitch works fine. You'll be HAPPY TOO!!

Actually 20 weeks for me. 12 weeks for the truck, and then 8 weeks for the bed and bed install. A five month project, but it was all worth it.

Snowmobile, wow that sounds like fun. I've been a cycle owner for 49 years, a Valkyrie now. But I've always wanted to try one of those snowmobiles, it's still on my bucket list.

Well, my 2012 f350 was ordered on Sept 30th, and arrived on Nov 8th. Unfortunately, I have only seen pictures of it as I am presently on a Great Lakes Ore Freighter. Vacation starts Dec 15th and I'll get to check out the new truck then, and get out the Yamaha snowmobiles also! I'll have to get something else to read, I already have the brochure memorized.......

I order my truck the end of march and less than 4 weeks it was in. The problem was it had the wrong seats, the dealer order the second one, 4 weeks later the end of May was driving my truck. Its a SC with 4x2 so i guess they can build those faster. LOL

Well, I haven't seen the truck yet. My wife has sent me a few pictures, if I can figure out how to post them I will. But Man, does that sucker look nice!! Platinum white tri-coat with the adobe trim and adobe interior. Chrome package and pretty much every option available! I also had them install a "Roll-N-Lock tonneau cover. We'll be using it to pull a 30 ft Carriage 5th wheel- looking forward to that. Just waiting for vacation on December 15th, we are presently anchored off Chicago- heading to Green Bay with gale warnings up on Lake Michigan. This is kind of a crappy time of year for us, so looking forward to the time off. I will have to come back in January to lay the boat up, but then the wife and I will be taking the truck out to Montana skiing in Feb. for the "shake down" cruise!....

Platinum white for me too. When the truck is clean and in the sun every color in the rainbow is in the sparkles in the paint. My wife's Highlander has almost the same paint, we love them both. You have all kinds of new toys awaiting your time off, how exciting.

I like that white as well. Unfortunately the wife's car is that color. She does not like having two of the same so I let her pick the color. We ordered Autum Red/tow tone.

Anybody with a cap? Will they let you order the cap before the truck comes in?

No reason they shouldn't. I ordered one for my '98 Ranger while it was still on order. Most important thing though is to make certain you have, and give them, the correct paint code for the truck. Since the Autumn Red is new this year, I'd be absolutely sure you've got the right paint code.
