Definitely good features along with Remote Start and Rapid Heat! My only complaint about the remote start is that it messes up my Edge CTS. Once I get in the truck and turn the key, the CTS will not turn on. I have to physically unplug it and plug it back in.

I love the heated seats too. I wish I had a winter cover for the grill. I'm gonna work on a way to strap up the winter cover from my 6.4.

Same here. It hit a balmy 28* here last night and dropped a few snow showers on us. Sure was nice having it warm in there this morning when I went out.

Yes the rapid heat and auto start as well! I wake up, have coffee, enter the shower and hit the auto start. Come out to a warm vehicle

Your darn straight on!

I'm loving my SD right now too.

41 hours, 2302 miles, and 220 gallons of fuel this week. So glad to be home!

Went from home to tupelo, then to Tulsa, up to Wichita, then drove 20 hours overnight to get home at 10 this morning. 4 men, 10K equipment trailer, and we completed 2 jobs.

Heated seat kept me comfy all night!

That's some driving there! Nothing like keeping the spine warm on a nice long drive

Guys,

Is there a trick to getting the heat and all to work with the remote start? I leave everything turned on and the only thing that runs when I use my remote start is the engine. I have to put the key in and turn it to the "RUN" position for anything to power up. No AC, no heat, no defrosters, no heated/cooled seats until the key is in.

Not that I know of Steve. I experimented with mine the other night / morning. On Friday night, I parked the truck at work around 5:45 PM. When I parked it, I purposely set the A/C on 60 on both sides and left it on the vents. I used the remote to start it around 5:40 AM on Saturday morning and when I got in the truck around 5:50, the defroster was blowing warm air and had almost defrosted the whole windshield. Also, the driver's seat was nice and warm and the warm air was blowing up through the seats.

Same situation on Saturday night and Sunday morning.....warm throughout after leaving the A/C on the night before when I parked the truck.

Both mornings, the outside temperature was right at 30* F. The truck has a build date of 2/11 and hasn't been flashed that I know of unless it was done before my dealer transferred it in.

You must hit the "auto" button and leave it that way.

That was what I thought too until I started experimenting with mine. Regardless of what I leave it set on, if it's colder than the preset threshold, the heat and heated seat come on with the remote start. I have no idea if mine is the exception or if it has to do with build date.

Look at your owners manual. It's in there about the operation.

Question

Rapid Heat is a supplemetal heating feature that consists of a heating element buried in with the heater core. It operates off of 12VDC and requires a heavy duty alternator. It supplements heating the truck until the water gets nice and hot. The CTS is a model of a aftermarket device you plug into the trucks OBDII Diagnostics port to monitor engine and tranny data real time. Made by Edge.
