Thumbs up Let's hear from YOU...tell me what you'd like to see

G'evening Virginia!

So I'm about a day into this Chapter Leader role and I have some thoughts of things I'd like to do and see with regards to the Chapter. All of that is good and well but I'd be foolish not to reach out to the Chapter members and gather some opinions.

For instance...a casual get together once the weather turns in the Spring.

So leave me some feedback here if you'd like. Or if you don't want to put out an idea publicly then shoot me a PM with your thoughts.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Cheers

John, how far are you from say...Wintergreen ski resort? There's a really cool brewery at the base of the mountain that could be a good place to meet and greet. Just brainstorming. Thanks for the feedback

Yikes, you're further SW than I thought. I need to get working on that Chapter Map so I can get a better gauge for where you guys are located.

Charlie I wish this wasn't a solid 3 hour drive for me...sounds like a good time. It's all of few miles from where my wife's brother had his wedding reception back in April...the marina club right there by the bridge.

Wow, just today huh? Congrats .... and Thanks for "stepping up"!

Talming about G2Gs, a fellow in Rose Hill is as close to St Louis as he is Va. Beach. From Cumberland Gap, Va. to Chincoteague Island is near 470 miles as the crow flies if he don't have flat feet and ain't carrying a gas can. The man in Cumberland Gap area is closer to touring Rt 66 from Chicago to Rolla, Mo. than he is to seeing them ponies.

The point being, from her extremities, it's a long way to some other parts of Virginia.

Mt Rush located on Rt 60 at Rt 24 in Appomattox Co. is said to be the geographic center of the state, based on land mass. If based on distance from her corners, the point is closer to Danville.

That place below Wintergreen in Nelson Co. not far from Nellysford isn't that far off, or maybe a day at the Surrender Grounds touring?

If you look at multiple G2Gs, Richmond & Roanoke split it up nicely.

Anyway ..... "just saying ..... happy to be here"

Les I hear ya loud and clear. We do have some distance things to consider. Im working on a google map so ghat we can all share our locations and I can then get a better handle on geographic spread.

John im already ahead of you on the decals. I saw that back in Feb a new decal was created and approved with the help of Spinella (Ed) and I've already contacted him to help us get a new proof using the same design with a slight change in the lettering. Ill have to get that approved by admin
since its just slightly different...but its in the works. Its a die cut decal meaning it doesn't have a backing and it should look great on tinted windows.

I like the t-shirt idea alot and I will do that next if the interest is there. That would likely require some upfront costs so we'll have to consider that too.

Happy Saturday fellas.
Les thanks for swinging by...don't be a stranger.

I think the t-shirts will be a good winter project as far a design etc. John thanks for the offer and I will likely take you up on that.

Ed does do a great job. He tells me that he has a design shop as a side business and im trying to have the design have less moving parts. Basically all the lettering would be contained within the State border and the site addy below the State.

Don't change the decal - I still have one I haven't used yet. When Katy Missindependant took over we tried to get a pic of her in a bikini. Don't think we need one of you, Chandler. We might have to go back to the idea of regional meetings. I think there are a few of us around the Roanoke area.

Just cause you have an oldie doesn't mean you cannot still use it. It'll just show your age a little
