I got a set of lariat wheels off of ebay, took those crappy steel/chrome wheels off, put the lariat alloy wheels on got, rid of the 265/75's that were on the truck when i bought it, and put on a set of bridgestone dueler a/t revo 285/75 R16's.
man ill tell you it makes a world of difference, it actually looks like a 4x4 now like it should.
just out of curiosity, does anyone know what percent difference the speedo is now? i am gonna go take it to the dealer and have it cald. but in the mean time it would be nice to know!!!
Measure the outside diameter of the old tires then the outside diameter of the new ones. Find the difference. divide the difference by the o/d of the old tire and you'll get the percentage. My old tires were 31's. My new tires were 38's. so 38-31=7 then 7 divided by 31= .225. The new tires are 22% bigger than the originals so I'll be going 22%faster than my speedo reads. The faster you go the farther off the speedo is. Also I'll need gears that are 22%bigger(numerically) to get back to stock form and can use the same formula to find out.
