I need to replace my '65 F350 hood hinges as they are bent from the previous owner having the hood blown open on the highway. I almost had a heart attack seeing the prices (in the area of $270-300 a pair)
and FTE's store doesn't list a '61-'66 hinge. Any ideas?
thanks
Charles
DC has them for 80 each. Although you may find a member that has a used set. I found a hinge in one of Dennis Carpenters bargann boxes that was new but one of the split rivits that holds it together did not get tight all the way. Probably pick that one up cheap. Good Luck!
I think I have found the difference. The online catalog shows a -B suffix and does not say "import". They (imports) tend to be cheaper but not necessarily the same quality. I have emailed DC for confirmation of this.
Anyway there do seem to be some good used ones out there for far lower prices...

Charles,
Be careul as I have learned. My original hinges seemed ok when looked at but must have been loose enough to cause the back of the hood not to recess down all the way while closing the hood. Its one of those parts that has to work 100% or it may not work at all. Good Luck
