F550 2011

This is my 2nd 550, should of kept my 2008! Ive had a few things go wrong with this truck, the current issue is a sweating/condensating heater core, when running the defroster on those humid mornings, no matter what setting, the floor board passenger side is wet, dripping right out of the flow vents near your feet. Naturally, I could duplicate the condition to the dealership, but they cannot stop it. Wrapping it did not solve it, the weep holes underneath are fine. WTF? Other things, the leather seat clips will not stay clipped in their runners, constantly popping out, had a DEF line crack, locking hubs had to be replaced, the only good thing I actually like is the oil filter is very cheap, the other thing which totally blew me away, after owning this truck for one year, the quick release oil drain plug (which I safety wired) and the not so Ford tough ABS plastic oil pan has cracked. I went ahd and replaced it myself with an aftermarket metal pan. Of course the warranty has played its part. I still like this truck for what it can do for me, but this nickel and diming crap of stuff failing or breaking is getting old. I have a few more questions for you ford guys and gals. Scott

Sounds like you should have Lemon Lawed to me. Too many issues for that truck to have passed QC.

Wow that's crazy. I've not had a single issue with my 2011 F550, and my 09 F550 only had a sticky door handle (when new) drivers seat heater, & an actuator for the climate control go bad so far.

Who manufactures the 6.7 metal oil pan and where did you buy it?

I found the pan thru Autoanything. Also, new development with my truck, Im not surprised, the rear differential, is now leaking . not from the cover, oh no, around the seal of the pinon gear shaft. Warranty once again.

Please understand fellows

I use this truck alot, haul this, drive that, etc. But being so new, I cannot understand why things are breaking, leaking, sweating. I take care of the damn thing, fluids, pressures, coolant additive, etc, but mang!! Not so Ford tough

Tires and spacers

I am in the market for a bigger tire. Thus far, I have found 285/70/17 Nitto grapplers? Will I be able to get away with this for the rear rims without a spacer, or will I be too close? Appreciate it feedback, The current tires are so small.

It came with OEM 17's. This version of 550 is not the typical chassis cab setup, it came from the factory as a 550, it was strange to me to see that it had 17's in lieu of 19.5's or another size biggeer than 17

Do you have a link or part number for that 6.7 metal oil pan you got from them? I went to their website and it shows no results on a search.

Why dont you go with 20's. Like what a srw comes stock with. 275/65/20 I think. As long as you dont go super wide or too high of a sidewall you should be okay.

BTW, what kind of 550 are you setting up? got any pics?
