I know there have been threads about this in the past but I just had to post something today. I have a wonderful wife. Not only does she support me with my truck addiction by going with me all over the place to pick up parts or complete trucks. She never complains about my greasy clothes or dirty bath sink. She knows when to stay away from the shop or come down and give me a hand. And today She gave me a print that she bought of what my truck will look like when its finished. She is the greatest!

That would be a keeper. I too have a wonderful wife, almost 27 years now. She treats me very well, puts up with me and my truck and I would consider her a keeper too. If you're reading this, I love you baby.
I've got a very supporting wife too and can't tell her enough how much I love her. She has a savings account set up just for our truck. Life couldn't get better. Glad to hear you're playing in the same ball park.
My wife is very supportive of my new project, she worries about the money I spend. I'm a sucker for a "good deal" lol I had bought the truck and not told her for a couple of weeks Well that was a big mistake, thank god I don't bruise easily Now that I can walk without a limp, things are much better. The project is a father and son effort, and when she see's me and my oldest critter (13) and I working together on it, laughing, joking around and the occasional cussing, she is very impressed. She now call's it " the truck " not that P.O.S in the driveway. We'll be celebrating our 25th this June, so obviosly I'm in it for the long haul. I can't say she's a keeper cause she keeping me.
My wife falls into that category as well...BUT...what goes around comes around, I think that each of us knows that we get as good as we give. In my case, the truck is on the back burner for a few months while I remodel the kitchen. I hear her cackling with the rest of the hens about how good SHE has it...if anyone has been married for 25 years or more there is a reason that we are still together. If it wasn't for her I'd be living in a garage in the middle of a junkyard!
Same here. we have a deal.. she gets to spend on her projects like I spend on mine. house, clothes, shoes, whatever..
she claims the red truck is HERS to drive, if I would ever get it roadworthy!..
she has her finger and toenails painted green for any show we go to..
a few months back even had a green streak added to her hair. She loves meeting and talking to people..
My wife of 39 years is a big supporter of all of my projects. She knows her way around hot-rods, is the daughter of a racer, and thinks the monkey-face truck is the best Ford made. She nearly divorced me when I sold the previous '49. Needless to say, this is my last '49 that I will be keeping until I become a worm-farm.....

Hey Rick,
You have it good over there! Sam if my wife began to do her hair & nails to match the truck I would be in the presence of a true pod person - not the real thing. Hmmm.. I think the fact that Jo Ann hasn't shot or poisoned me in our 33 years together is a testament to her patience.
I think our saving grace is that the truck keeps me & my 19 year old son Zack out of her hair - for that reason the truck is almost priceless to her.
I have to grin reading all of these replys. If we didn't have a good spouse that supported us we probably wouldn't be on this forum and wouldn't have an old project truck to work on. They wouldn't allow it. Sam, I like your post on HER projects. Come to think of it I just spent a small wad of money to put power steering on the wifes 73 CJ5 muddin jeep. She is also into motorcycles but she usually spends her money on that. I'm afraid as I get closer to finishing the 53 she will lay claim to that too!
Having the truck keeps me at home and out of "the pool hall." We have separate checking accounts(the best pro- marriage step I've made). So, I see the truck as a home-run for her. That said, even though my wife is very understanding, I had to make it very clear to her that I was going to finish my truck first...after I finsihed the new porch and bathroom re-model.
Since she's half of the user name, that makes her your co-mechanic. Without the separate accounts, there never have been my Garage-Mahal-keep after it.
