C6 rear extension issue

Hi all. New user here. Hopefully this will be a quick and easy question for y'all. I have a 69 F250 (390/C6 short extension) 2wd with a blown tranny. I also have a known-good C6 that came off the back of a 460(no tag) and it has the long rear extension/slip-yoke. First off: will this fit on a 360/390? And secondly: can I just swap out the rear extension housings?
I just got layed-off yesterday and really need to get this work-truck running on the cheap... really desperate here so ANY help will be much appreciated.

460 and 390 use different bellhousing patterns.
Swapping the extension housing would also require swapping the output shaft in the trans, full disassembly required.

c 6 extension housing

i have a 69 f-250 with a 390 and had to fix the shift linkage so i took off the extension housing and the pan and valve body then got stupid and took the governer tubes out i must have bent them a little because they don't go in all the way can i buy new ones or carefully try to pry them in i also need the gasket for the extension housing but the extention housing won't go on until i get the tubes in all the way.
