I know this is the 7.3 forum but I post here most and know some of you guys have the 6.0 also. So here goes, my boy has the F350 cc lb 4x4 2004 6.0 and I want to buy him a tuner. What would you recommend. He's done the bulet proof oil cooler change and egr, he's replacing gears Monday and tows alot but even gets terrible MPG unloaded. Questions for the guys on here that have one what did you do? Thanks a head of time,
Chet
The SCT tuner with tunes by one of the custom tuner guys seem to be a very popular method, but since you didn't mention headstuds in your sons mod list, don't even think about it.
Get headstuds installed before you even consider a tuner on the 6.0. They have fewer bolts per cylinder than the 7.3 and will blow a gasket with just off the shelf tunes.

Chris, my mistake, He also put in ARP head studs when they did the bullet proof mods. I hope this cures his problems.
I think a lot of the programmers they use for the 6.0 act as the gauges also. Might have to install a probe somewhere, but they use the electronic gauges.
Didn't know that Franko! I mit just give him a call. I here he's busy all the time I hope he don't mine. Chet
He is busy, but he prob took 10-15 calls while he was building my trans. You could just have Tina go ask him real quick, she's super nice too!
Brians all about helping others out.
He also does his own tunes ( I got em in my truck and love em) but I'm not sure if he tunes the 6.0's himself or not. He may, He races his 6.0 daily driver, and the word "stock" is not in his vocabulary.
