1987 E 350 Motorhone Headers
I am thinking about getting rid of the stock exhaust manifolds since they are startinig to leak and getting headers. The problem is that no one seems to make the headers for my year with the air injection. I would like to scrap the whole smog / air pump junk and go with straight headers and exhaust. Does anyone have any experience with removing the smog system and adding a cat or doing something different? I would really like to get this exhaust leak taken care of but it does not seem like I have a lot of options. I have a 1987 Ford Coachman on an E350 chasis with a carburated 460.

Eliminating the air injection system will not effect the way the engine runs so installing headers that don't have it is not a problem. How you go about removing the air pump etc. I can't help you there.
