Do not worry about that gap you show after reinstalling the new seal, just go back and rework it a bit and it will close up. This happened to me when I reinstalled one of my old seals, I ended up about 1/2" short and just reinstalled it working from the seam back both directions.
I worked it up, down, left, right, in and out. It's just plain cut too short. The only way I can get it to fit is if I don't fully seat it in the sharp corners (bottom front, top rear or back rear). Not seating it fully doesn't make any sense to me as water/dust can leak through.
I had training today and again tomorrow, so won't be able to check with the dealer until the weekend. Maybe I can send them an e-mail with the photo showing it's too short and see if one of the two would offer to order a replacement that's cut right.
Forgot to post...the dealer says the 2nd row doors on the Excursion are different than the full size 2nd row doors on F250/350 (different dimensions maybe?).
I asked when he said he didn't have any for an Excursion if a F250/350 would fit and he said the doors are different. Fronts SHOULD be the same though I would imagine. Can anyone confirm?
ex rear doors are bigger than 250/350 rear doors. side by side it is very noticeable

Yes, the rear doors are different but I seriously doubt the front doors are; it is the exact same door. The only thing I can think of is that the seals mount differently but again, I really doubt that.
I loved ed.. But he will be leaving I think.. A good alternative is Tousley Ford. They usually beat Ed, but I always went to Ed because, well. It was Ed. But now that he is gone I go to Tousley.
So Tousley is our go to OEM source now that Ed is gone?
I think it would mostly depend on shipping and how long Horizon Ford keeps honoring his web site. If the site is up, they honor the pricing and shipping works, I'd say keep using it. The easiest way to make Horizon NOT continue to honor the pricing is for them to see a sudden drop in orders.
On the other side, my estimate for the parts for a V code spring swap was close on price, but Tousley beat Horizon on shipping hands down.
I personally will continue to use Horizon for small stuff that doesn't need truck shipping until I find it cheaper at Tousley.
Our forum sponsor, Riffraff Diesel, also carries a few OEM items. Mainly for the 7.3L PSD's, but you can always PM Clay (Riffraff) and ask him if he can get something for you.

Good point. But thats were mark up comes into play. Generally the fewer middle men the better. Unless clay wants to buy in bulk. Which he very well might.

To give you an idea we usually have 2-3 pallets of Ford parts come in per month.
