Windshield Wiper Adjustment

Tried to adjust the wiper arm so that wiper sits higher on windshield so the defrost heat will keep the wipers thawed out, on these trucks there is a notch on post so that it only fits one way.
Any one know if there is a stop adjustment on moter or arm, for that matter is it possible to have ford adjust stop points in comp.
I have done this adjustment on many vehicles in the past and it works great in the cold climates. nothing like ripping rubber off the wipers every time you need to get the road grime off window.
My truck dont fit in my garage so trying to remove plastic @ 0 degrees just to take a look isnt appealling to me, unless I know there is an adjustment to make.

Thks

I don't know the answer but you gave me an idea for a pretty neat invention. Heated wiper blades! Seems kinda cool.

They already have heated wiper blades, but they are very expensive: Everblades Heated Windshield Wipers, Everblade Heated Wiper Blades
They also have a windshield washer heating device which looks interesting but also very expensive: http://www.autoanything.com/driving-...7-57DAA74FFF7A

I know it's not a fix but a easier way than putting plastic on the windshield is to lift the wipers. Now saying that I haven't checked to see if they would stay up on their own or they just lift up and don't lock. But that also means they might be out of reach to pull them back down.

The other thing we used to do is have a couple pieces of cardboard and stick them under the wipers, that fix is practically free.

Sounds cool, see they are not available for the '12s yet. Wonder if they are the same?

Are you going to wire them to an uplifter switch?

That is what I was thinking, I have one upfitter left (#4) so as long as they are less than 15A I will.

I would think they would be the same???

Thanks

I called them and they had little info. Did not know the amps, just that they are 22" for both side. I will have to measure the '12 but doubt that has changed.........

Also tried emailing Everblades direct but their site seems to be having issues.........

Everblades says they are 9A total (for both) so I should be good to go.
Not looking forward to making another connection at the pass thru 1" wires behind the fuse box (under the hood)!!!!!

Now just gotta deal with shipping to Canada.....hope they get here before spring!

"Your heated windshield wipers sport built-in heater elements that keep the blades broiling at approximately 200°"

Ya...and heat will degrade the blades much faster. These just won't get it done I'm afraid.

Maybe so....but at least I will use my last upfitter. It's been driving me nutz having those switches there doing nothing.

How bout some positive thinking??

Silicone rubber is very heat resistant. It's the primary component of your premium spark plug wire jackets.
