hey guys. i hope with all the experts here you can give me a hand. i a have a 1989 f-150 with a 302 and 110k on it. i worked it out that its getting 12.5 miles per gallon. ( and thats when i baby it.) less for normal driving. could you guys tell me what kind of gas milage is normal for this year/style/age of truck and what your trucks are getting, and ways to possibly improve gas milage. the stuff isn't getting any cheaper but you have to burn some gas to make some noise. thanks guys

I just bought a '93 150 with a 302/auto 117K mi..I'm getting 13/16 city hwy.I drive slower than your grandma.I should have bought a 6/stick,I never haul more than a motorcycle anyway.I just rented a Uhaul ford cube van with a V10 and got 12mpg over 300mi(lead foot to make good time).seemed faster than then the 150.

Did you just buy my truck and motorcycle and I didn't know about it?

Same year, engine, transmission, miles and mileage.

What state are you driving in? I use to get 15/19 before the gas was reformulated here in the people's republic of Kalifornia.

12-13 seems a little low to me. How long since you've done a tune-up? Mine averages from 16 up to 18+ on highway trips.

yeah. i keep good care. tune up couple of months ago. i guess i know that its not too bad considering that its in the ballpark. its a 5 speed too so i thought it would be better than 12. but oh well. with the true dual and no cats ( in canada ) where we have no emission laws. Oh the sweet sweet no emission laws. there are some insane trucks up here. straight headers... you bet, just watch for the popo.(cops) oh well. thanks guys. you gotta burn some gas to make some noise!!!

I just bought a '94 F150 Supercab,302,E4OD,short bed, fiberglas topper, and went through everything tune up wise, even a K&N drop in filter, and I get steady 15 mpg around town with the a/c on, not sure what rear gear I have yet.

I have a 302 E4OD Flareside w/3:55 100% City was 12.8; 50/50 was 13.8; 100% HWY was 17.89. I previously ran both tanks with STP Injector cleaner before the HWY run, though. It is completely tuned up.
