This is such a great idea, you have to ask yourself why Ford did not make it a part of there maintenance process. They could even sell the "special tool" to do it.
Not sure who has the list but I'd like to add my name , Dwight (TXSailor). I'm in no particular hurry (weather is always nice in Southern Texas). Let me know who to PM with an address. Maybe Dee (Daz00Excursion)????
And reps to all. This forum has been the "University of Higher Excursion" for me (and probably many others). Absolutely Super folks.
Thanks, Dwight

Easy-peasy. I turned this one out on a Shopsmith (a WOOD lathe) out of a 1/2" bolt with a drill on the tailstock and using metal files as turning tools.
Necessity, being the mother of invention, just gotter' done.

There is atleast one other out there. I saw it on another FTE members website and he said he made it.

Back a couple of years when this one was originally made, we had a Brother who was the supervisor of an automated machine shop down in the Houston area. He had a few cranked out based on my original drawing, so there are at least a few more out there.
If anyone wants the drawing, I'll post it here. It's dirt-floor simple!
Edit: I went back and found the thread. It's farther back than I thought, 2007. Here's the drawing, but remember, the thread doesn't need to be for a metric Zerk, and the O-ring groove is completely unnecessary.

Just out of curiosity...what years does that tool work on? Maybe we can convince whoever makes them to sell them to local Ford dealers or private repair shops...make it worth their while to make them.

I had actually borrowed Robin's earlier this year, but he needed it back before I could use it (I was having a flare-up of continual back problems so I never could get around to doing it) so I've been meaning to ask him again to borrow it, but I like this idea better. I don't have to bother Robin and ask for a favor this way!
I need to service the Excursions front brake caliper pins anyway because the drivers side is grabbing again. I've been remiss and haven't done any pin service in over three years.
I really do want a zerk of my own. There was a thread about a year ago where someone was gonna start making them again and I put myself on the list, but nothing ever came of it.
