I made it....

I had to pick up a load of forms today about 250 miles from home. 16,000lbs worth and I was SO scared that my fuel pump was going to let go.

I just thought I would post about how good my truck is and how great it handled this load. I have nothing but 100% faith that this truck will get the job done. Lets hear some stories about how your 6.7 is the truck for your job.......

Best selling truck for some 25 years running? That should tell you something.

I just came down form the deer stand and I thought it was safe to go home and have a glass of milk and cookies...and read a few 6.7 threads. The next thing you know, I have milk coming out of my nose.
Thanks, that made my day.

Let me ask a couple questions.
What rear gears?
What speed travelling?
What is mpg?

If you kept track anyway, thanks.

I was worried about the weight spread... But it was perfect. Had two sets up front and two over the axle, then two over the tail to bring the front weight down.

Okay that sounds pretty decent to me. I was wondering if there might be an exponential drop off in mpg's as the weight got up that high. Compared to my 11,000 lb 5th wheel getting 10.2-10.5 running 70-73 it seems about right. More weight but lower speed and less wind resistance equals about same mpg's.

Correct. The only two ways that highway fuel economy is affected by trailering are wind resistance and tire rolling resistance. Rolling resistance goes up linearly by weight, but wind resistance isn't necessarily related. A low-profile trailer with a lot of weight would get far better fuel economy on the highway than my 3,500 lb enclosed car hauler.

That is right in line with what I have seen when pulling similar weight and speed.

Damn good numbers! I'll be pulling my loaded toyhauler to Canada next week. If I get 10 mpg with the 37's and the trailer I'll be a happy camper
