Distributor mounting

Does the distributor housing for a 92 351W need to be installed a certain way? And by distributor housing, I mean the part of the dizzy where the wires come out. Could I rotate that so the wires are closer to the connection on the wiring harness?

I haven't thought of a reason why this shouldn't be done, but maybe there is one.

You can mount it anyway you want as long as the rotor is lined up to #1 , and you have enough movement to set the timing.....

if you just turn the dizzy to gain space with the wiring harness, it will change your timing (bad idea with your supercharged setup-to change timing arbitrarily that is). in order to do it right, you have to remove the distributor, and jump a tooth or 2 in the gear so it moves in the direction you want it to, then reset your timing.
