Looking to attach a tailgate that I bought off ebay to my 82 bed. This gate comes with the solid metal bars, not the cables. My bed had all the bolts and hardware stripped by the previous owner. I those bolts. I haven't been able to find them in LMC's cat. There must be another place. Thanks.
You can swap out for cables, I think...my truck originally had a tailgate with the metal straps, but when I got a different tailgate, I used cables and it had no issues...
At least, I know the bolts that are in the bed sides will accept either metal straps or the cables.
The trucks at your JY don't even have the bed bolts??? People are that specific??? lol
Or, once you get the list of parts send me a PM. Oh, 2 posts so you can't PM yet. Send me the list at janeyandgary@gmail.com. I've parted several trucks and have a fair stock of tailgate hardware. But, we can't talk price "in the open", hence the use of either Private Messages (PM's) or email.
thanks for the replies, been at work. i need two 44474's and need to know if they bolt into the bed or extend through and nut to secure. my bed seems to have no threads. thanks.
I believe they thread in, and I have a pair as I have an extra bed. But, I will confirm that they thread in and that I can get these out by taking them out, although I can't do that until tomorrow. Will let you know.
The strap bolts do unscrew, once you pull the 4 Phillips screws that hold the tail light, remove the light, and hold the nut, shown in the following picture. Note that bolts for cables unscrew as well, but there is no need to remove the taillight as the bed is threaded and the bolts have a Torx recess.
Here's how my bolt was oriented, just in case someone is truly restoring a truck, although the flat spot on the bolt pretty much forces you to this position:
How did you get those great pic's to upload. I don't know how. I tried some of my truck and get stuck in the errors. Lost interest.
BVasically, upload your pix to a hosting site (photobucket, flickr, can even be your FTE galleries & albums) and paste the resulting URLs between two IMG tags.
Yes, I uploaded them to my For Sale album on the FTE site, here: Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - Gary Lewis's Album: For Sale While I could have just put them in the thread w/o storing them I thought it might be good to document them for posterity.
As for wanting them, I'll respond to you via email.
