Like Bill said, it's almost always cheaper to fix than to replace, and if you sell your '04 with a bad head gasket you won't get squat for it.

You've already installed the BPD oil cooler & EGR cooler. You should be able to have the gaskets replaced and the motor studded for a little North of 3 grand. Then your gorgeous dream truck should be good to go.

Since we only live a few miles apart, is it possible that we could meet somewhere so I can have a look at your '04? I'm no 6.0 genius or anything like that but I'd like to take a look at it.

If you want 4x4 in a Ranger (2011) then you only have one choice, the 4 door super cab. If you choose the regular cab they take away the V6, the 4x4, and the 2 extra doors.

The prices I've been getting are all north of 4, and I just can't afford that. I've already dropped close to 4 just to get the truck running propperly because of problems that arose conveniently right after the mealsy warranty went out. The reason I'm even considering getting rid of it is because it is a bad investment. This truck, no matter how much I love it, isn't worth $29,000 (sticker + all these repairs). Plus the previous $4k doesn't include labor because I installed the oil and egr myself.

Parts for a head gasket are around a grand (ARP studs and Ford gasket), but with 18 units and 25 hrs of work a week, I just have 0 time to take on such a massive project on my daily driver.

I do appreciate any help I can get, I'm currently looking into the possibility of doing this without pulling the cab. If you'd like to take a look I can meet you somewhere (I have not choice but to keep driving it).
