97-F150--4.6 engine--300,000+ miles, driving and using the blinker signals several times in rapid succession, I heard a clicking sound and assumed I sort of had the blinker signal arm between positions, drove on home fine and it wouldn't start the next time I went to do it, could hear a clicking noise under the dash, sounded like it was coming from the left side of the dash panel, up high.
Also seems that it isn't getting power to the ignition switch, I switch it to on position and absolutely no reaction, but I do hear the clicking again--relay maybe? The clidking continued even after I switched it off and removed the key.
The recall on the Speed Control System Modification (safety recall no: 05S28) has not been performed on this truck.
Any suggestions from you experts out there?
Thanx

First thing to do is inspect and clean both battery cables and battery terminals, then see what you have.
Bluegrass,
You are a genius!!!!!! pulled off the covers and the posts and the clamps were heavily corroded, cleaned em and the hood lite came on when I hooked up the cables, batry was very weak, but the jumper battery started it right up!!!!
One more question, if you don't mind--should I have the cables replaced too? The connections are very corroded and I don't know how far down the corrosion has penetrated the cables.
Just as a note, my wife just tole me that it has been 4-5 years since I replaced the battery.
Thanks again for the help!!!!!

Well you know what you saw and have.
Your going into winter when the battery will be taxed to it's aged limit.
Replace the cables and the battery or expect to be left set and a no start when you really need to go some place.
A cold battery has much less capacity. Aged, it has even less.
Good luck.
