What is this

My truck is an '00 XLT SC 3.0 and the Exact Same thing Was replaced on my truck about 2 weeks ago..
Just Thought I'd Let anyone else know. The EEC code that is pulled for this is P0401
Ford Canada Part NO. F77Z-9J460-AB DPFE Sensor -
List Price $110.00
Labour: Pullcode, pin test Sensor, replace, and Update PCM: $130.00
To which I'd Like to add is NOT covered under ANY Extended W a r r a n t y.
So I was hosed out of $130.00 to do a 5 min job. Plus the fact that the part alone is worth $110.00 and no other auto supply stores around here carry it.
Just thought i'd share my experience before they find another sucker...
P.S.
To make matters more frustrating.. My neighbour who owns a 2001 Mustang Got a letter from Ford Canada Mentioning the exact same part will be replaced "Free of Charge" or If it was already replaced, A refund would be issued , because they just realized it has become a common problem and is not covered under any Factory or Extended W a r r a n t y .
According to my Dealer, The DPFE sensor only fails in Mustangs as their was a campaign for it.. but no campaign for rangers..
The part No. for His Sensor is the EXACT SAME AS MINE only difference is that it might mount differently to cause a variation of the part Number. (9J460)
But the reason why its failing has NOTHING to do with the engine it's connected to. The cheap crap they made it out of corrodes oh Well
Sorry Guys I had to get that off my chest.. I'm still in progress of trying to call FORD Canada and letting them know that it is unacceptable to release a campaign for a common replacement part for one vehicle only, and that I'll be expecting my refund..
Sorry, Again my Bark is worse than my bite.. Just a little upset that I was Hosed out of $260.00 CDN
Any body else come across theis same situation?
Jim
