Dead in Gear

I am so frustrated!!!!! My 2003 Ford F150 (supercrew, triton V8) falls dead whenever I out it in gear. It starts but as soon as I put it In gear it falls dead. It's going to the mechanic BUT I wanted to get a general idea of what could be wrong. Fuel pump? Fuel filter? Please I am dieing to rescue my baby....

I would suspect the Idle Air Intake controller of sticking closed.
