93 explorer fuel problem??

Okay so my dads 93 explorer seems like its starving for gas, it cuts out almost like its going to stall, hasnt stalled yet, but it seems like its not getting enough gas, new fuel filter and still having the same problem, fuel pump isnt that old either, just started doing it maybe thursday. we havent really looked much into it yet, but any ideas what it could be?

A variety of things unfortunately.. Did you get a "Check Engine Light" to come on? That is the first place to check as you can get a code, and go from there!

Start with your basics then.. Tune up, Timing, Filters, Fluids, Check for leaks along the fuel lines and intake, and just to be certain run a PIN test regardless. There have been occasions in which a code may be thrown but not show up on the CEL.

but it seems like its not getting enough gas,
If I thought it wasn't getting gas, I'd put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if the fuel system was doing what it should.

You eliminate the guesswork by performing diagnostic tests..

First, connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail, no more guessing... Philip
