Traction Issues

So i took my f250 with a f100 built 352 off the road a bit today. And needless to say I was very disappointed :/ . I at least expected the truck to have a LSD rear end since it was 2wd, but no. Going up a tiny little grassy incline it began to lose traction and just spin away any power. My question is that is there any way to make the truck be able to climb a hill without sliding? Would new offroad tires and weight in the rear make a huge difference, or do i have to go 4x4? I dont plan to go rock crawling or mudding or anything, i just want to be able to putt around the property with traction!!!Thank you for your help.

Find a 3rd member with a Limited Slip or better yet install a Detroit Locker or similar. With good tires you'll be able to go further than a lot of 4-wheel drive trucks.

I had a Dodge 3/4tn 4x4 some years back that would spin on just the hint of wetness. Once it was locked in the thing felt like it was glued to the ground. Never did find a way to get more traction in 2WD with that truck. I suppose if I had put enough weight in it that might have helped but it would have needed a bunch of weight.

I was running all terrain tread tires but factory width. Deeper lug wider tires might have helped.
