Component list help
I'm looking at a wiring diagram for my 99 PSD and I'm unfamiliar with a lot of these acronyms. I do have good gas engine knowledge and i've even been a ford tech but almost no diesel electronic experience.
I'm wanting to do a swap after I get my learning taken care of but I really need to know what these things are and what they do.
Here's my list:
CAB MOUNTED COMPONENTS (really need to know these for my swap)
ETC
AP
IVS
APC module
BPA
BOO
PBA
TCIL
CPP (manual trans only)
SCIL
DOL (to tripminder)
VEHICLE MOUNTED COMPONENTS (prolly aught to know these too)
KAPWR
DTR
OSS
IDM-EM (injector driver module right?)
AND THEN FOR MY PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE ENGINE MOUNTED COMPONENTS
EBP
ICP
EOT
MAT
MIAH (HAS A SPECIAL RELAY)
CAMP
IPR
EPR
I know this is a big list but I will repay your time with a good write up on swapping a 7.3L into a v10 Excursion.

ETC Electronic Throttle Control:Potentiometer to give voltage reference to PCM for throttle input
AP Accelerator Pedal
IVS Idle Validation Switch: Lets the PCM acknowledge throttle position sensor input
APC module
BPA Brake Pressure Applied: used to know when the brake pedal is activated
BOO
PBA
TCIL Transmission Control Indicator Lamp: Overdrive off lamp
CPP (manual trans only) Clutch Pedal Position Sensor:Needs to see clutch depressed to start
SCIL Steering Column Ignition Lock: Module used for chipped keys
DOL (to tripminder)
VEHICLE MOUNTED COMPONENTS (prolly aught to know these too)
KAPWR
DTR
OSS
IDM-EM (injector driver module right?) Correct: Used to up the voltage to the injectors
AND THEN FOR MY PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE ENGINE MOUNTED COMPONENTS
EBP Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor: Monitors BP for fueling map
ICP Injector Control Pressure: Monitors Pressure of the High pressure oil feeding the injectors for fueling
EOT Engine Oil Temperature: I think you get that one
MAT Manifold Absolute Temperature: Temperature at the Intake
MIAH (HAS A SPECIAL RELAY) Manifold Intake Air Heater: to heat the intake air after the glowplugs turn off to keep smoke down
CAMP Camshaft Position Sensor: Used to know position of the camshaft for timing
IPR Injector Pressure Regulator: Regulates the High pressure oil based on command from PCM and input from ICP sensor for fueling

I wish I knew them all but some are slightly different than what I am use to.
