Not exactly a V-10 specific issue...but I'm looking for a decent solution for my crew cab. Some of the Cabella's Big Sky two gun racks mounted over the back seat seem decent. But I'd like fantastic.
Thoughts? I like to have the shotgun and the .30-06 handy when out in the woods.
Unless you want to mangle your dash, the behind the front seat is about it. I just place mine barrel down on the passenger side with no shell in the chamber. For longer driving terms, the behind the seat would work as good as anything. I have seen the above mounted shelf with sun visor but for me it takes up too much space for field of view. That would be the most handy setup if I was to choose.
To me either the ones that mount behind the seat headrests or the under rear seat like these. While not being as easily accesible a friend has it and is happy with it.
I think the under the seat storage didn't debut until the '03 model....that right? Mine's a 2001. That back seat bin is full of emergency water, tools, tow chains, first aid kit, blankets. The lumberman's jack is mounted just above it.
I was thinking that being able to reach up and behind be for a rifle or shotgun would be nice.
However under the seat is out of sight...and a lot of those models...Du Ha comes to mind...can be locked separately.
Have you already checked the law enforcement supply sites? Not sure if you'd like a weapon that close but there might be something useful there.
Of course I live in a city and toting any rifle or such in sight scrares the citizens to no end----odd they're not more concerned with what they can't see huh?
