Lighting problems
HI, i recently bought a 1980 F-150 4x4 and for some odd reason im having A.... LOT of electrical problems...first it woudnt start under battery power but would pull start fine.
'I had the battery tested and it was ok but i bought a new one anyway. I also replaced the starter solenoid and the voltage regulator. Now the truck will start under battery power but only if my 200 amp charger/starter is hooked....its like the battery isnt big enough but its a 1000 amp batery. All it will do is sit there a hum in solenoid without that extra boost.
Also, the only lights i can get workin are the headlamps. I replaced all the fuses checked all the connections and changed all the bulbs but i still dont have any tail-lights, brake lights, running lamps, parking lamps, or turn signals...
Someone please help this is my ONLY transportation lol thanks in advance

hey guys...heres what i did,
called the previous owner to see if he had receipt for starter (it still loked new and it tunnede out its only 3 years old) so i got the receipt and got a exchange (love those 5 years warranties) still wouldnt start without charger. Then i checked all the grounds everything was ok. I also got a new tail lamp assembly becuz my drivers side was broken.. It didnt work..Its BRAND new. SO..what have i got left to try...some one told me that it might be some kinda of switch in the steering column that could be causing it....what do you guys think? and if anyone wants a good parts truck let me know cuz you can damn sure have it...Thanks.

oh and bye the way does anyone know of any sites i can buy a factory service manual for this truck i got one for my 65 chevy from chevyduty and its like 300 pages long with alllllot of info...anyone know where i can get this for a ford 1980 4x4 thanks
