DieselKleen can be found at autozone... smells like lipstick as my ol lady says
Stanadyne if you can find a retailer or buy online.
I fill up at this mom n pop place that only sells diesel they carry Stanadyne now. so Im waiting to switch to that soon as I finish off the Dieselkleen.
Don't use the stuff myself. Granted though, I don't deal with temps below single digits in both places that I call home, so that may have an affect on my decision there.

It's not just the low temperature protection. I run Diesel Kleen for the extra lubicity year round...gray when temperatures will stay above 40F; white all other times. The white has an anti-gel additive in it. In my opinion, ULSD is way too dry for the pumps & injectors on our trucks. If you can come up with either B5 (5% biodiesel/95% diesel), Stanadyne, Ford's Cetane booster or OptiLube (order online only) that's about as slick as your going to get your fuel. For the last six months I've been trying a blended DK-gray & OptiLube blend to see if that does anything for fuel mileage. I can't see where my MPG is any higher than straight OptiLube or DK-gray separately, so my theory is that there is only so far you can push the cetane (willingness to burn) of pump diesel.
I HATE the smell of that horrible stuff ..... but I use it at EVERY fill-up.
Wait until you get a whiff of OptiLubeBut it has helped my fuel mileage...so I put up with the smell. Just don't spill it on something your attached too.

Nary an issue with running straight pump diesel. I know beachbumcook is against running straight pump diesel, but I haven't had an issue with it. It's another one of those things with as particular as the injectors on a 6.0, I still haven't had any issues.
Which makes me wonder if it really is at that specific pump locations or does it have to do with ULSD in general.

Like I said, in my opinion, straight pumped ULSD is too dry for the pumps & injectors on our trucks. I have noticed a 1.5-2.25 mpg gain in fuel mileage over the last three years that I've been keeping track of my fuel (every gallon & mile has been accounted for). Is it the fuel, the additive or just straight driving style? I'd like to think is a combination of all three...but I still stand by my opinion.

LMAO I set myself up for that and didnt even know it, you got me... HA I say no more!!!

I get + 2MPG using the mom&pop diesel only station. I hate getting Fuel anywhere else and its hard cuz she closes at 5:30....

FYI - I am not against straight diesel being used.... but I do believe that using a quality, name brand fuel additive (just for diesels) will only help one's motor in the long run.
I use Dieselkleen year round and actually double-dose most of the time. I use it more for the lubricity benefits than anything else... but clean fresh fuel, clean fuel filters and clean fresh oil is key!!!
No amount of additive will work if one doesn't spend the time and money to change their fuel and oil filters with OEM made filters and good clean oil changed every 5,000 miles (oil is used to operate the injectors).

That's being against straight pump diesel. If you thought straight pump diesel was sufficient for our motors you wouldn't use the additive period. Doesn't matter if you used it for cetane, lubricity, and/or anti-gel.
You certainly wouldn't double dose the additive if you thought straight diesel was sufficient.
I can't recall the exact post (you have many), but I could have sworn that you said that you wouldn't trust the fuel companies to quality control their additive and how much additive that they put back in the fuel to replace the "missing" sulphur and as such, you wouldn't trust straight pump diesel.
I'll try to find that specific post, but I could have sworn that you said something along those lines.

Wow... I have no idea if I posted that or not... but it does sound like something I would say (and I do believe that for the most part)!!
I have learned that some here at FTE don't like it when people post absolute answers... so as far as fuel goes.... you rright, I use additives for what I believe are positive benefits and have always done so. By the same token, I know others here and on other forums that don't use them and have never had an issue.
These people are either lucky or live in an area where the fuel quality or cetane levels are higher or better controlled???
I probably did post what you think you remember... dam, that had to be a long time ago???
I now have 200,300 miles on my Excursion and replaced all 8 injectors last year at 180,000 or so. They became weak and sluggish with a huge loss in power.... but all is well now.
