Big Mistake - when buying new F250 superduty bought the "package" which includes undercoating, treatment on interior and treatment on paint. I thought the interior treatment would only be like a scotchguard treatment on the carpet and seats well they put this "silicone" type stuff all over the dash, doors, steering wheel, etc., (anything plastic) wellllll it is terrible and I can't get it off. Took it back to dealer and they made it worse. Any suggestions on what to use to get it off. Sure would appreciate any advice. Thanks
Most solvents that are strong enough to remove silicone would most likely also do damage to what the silicone is on. You might try a product called "Goof Off" put out by Gardsman. It removes dried latex paint, oils, ink etc, and is safe for plastics, vinyl etc. Available at most hardware stores. Have no idea if it will work on silicone, but its worth a try. Use it in a small unseen area first just incase. Hope this helps. Happy trails
I don't think you are going to find any product that will get rid of that silicone. The stuff is highly inert and won't react to solvents, as far as I know. I've had detailers overdo silicone on my dash and plastic/vinyl... a little goes a long way. I've had the best results from using a clean dry cloth on the areas you're talking about. The cloth will pick up a good amount of the silicone, but not all of it. What's left will eventually disappear.
Try using dishwashing soap. Put some straight on a rag and rub it in real good. Then go back over it with a wet cloth to get up the rest. I always use armor all cleaner on my dash. Not the shiny stuff but the cleaner. It comes in a white and light blue bottle. Use that after you use the dish soap.
