quick ficm question

I have an 04 f250 with the 4 screw ficm, found a seven screw ficm from an 04 excursion. Can I just plug the seven screw ficm in or will it Need to be reflashed since mine has 4 screws

Thanks

No flash required to start/run the truck. It is possible to get a code for incorrect software version but truck will run. Just a roll of the dice as to which versions are in truck/FICM.

So if it is a different version I will get a code that will let me know I need it reflashed

The code will be a U0306 software incompatability code which just means that the FICM wasn't flashed with the PCM. If the truck runs good it's not a concern.
