Hello to all Texas Chapter FTEs,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o> I am Stephen from west Fort Worth, TX and own a 1954 F-100. I have owned this truck since November 12, 2001 and drove it until May 2004. At that time I decided to tear the truck down to the frame and start a total buildup with all new hardware and equipment. I had two reasons for this tear down: (1 leaning experience and (2 more exciting truck to drive. I wish I kept more of the original equipment in 2004 but you live and learn. I have wire brushed the entire frame to bare metal (me), had the cab and both doors dipped, stripped, and epoxy primered (from Metal Rehab in Arlington), rebuilt both doors with all new hardware, weather stripping, and glass (all from LMC), welded in an independent front suspension (me) from a Ford Aerostar (local Salvage Yard under recommendations from fellow ’56 F-100 co-worker), and 9” from another F-100 (from CL). Things have come up over the years that have halted production/re-construction but that’s life (mostly wife reallocating disposal income). I have not made a final decision on engine, trans or color. I have a lot of ideas but no focus. I have enjoyed working on my truck in leisure with both of my kids (4 (b) and 11 (g)). I also enjoy the mechanics of the build to include getting dirty since I sit behind a desk all day punching keys. <o></o> <o> </o> I look forward to meeting other FTEs from Texas. Go Rangers!<o></o>
