Engine question
I have a 1990 bronco, 351w EFI that is going bad, rings are worn on a couple cylinders. What year motors can I just drop in without having to do any heavy mods like exhaust manifolds. Thanks guys.

instead of replacing engine with another used one, i would just have the current one rebuilt at a reputable machine shop. That way you know the history of your engine. If you want a new one, i would call someplace like summit racing and tell them what you have and what you want.

actually your Ford dealer might have the best deal on a new engine. i asked about a 5.8L and they told me $2300 and the only thing that wasnt included was the intake. it had a warranty on it and they said they would deliver it free to my house if i wanted. but if you want that installed im sure they'll charge you an arm and a leg.

Engine question
Go with a factory remanufactured long block. They have a good warranty are readily avaliable and are about the best price. The ford remanufatured ones are a great deal, but there are other companies that do them like jasper etc. These engines are between a 1000-1500 It's basically block heads oil pump and all gaskets to assemble. You might want to do a water pump etc while you have it apart. Your best bet would be to go with a larger rebuilder that way you pretty much have nationwide coverage. There are a lot of garages that install them for a pretty reasonable price. Good luck
