I need to replace the fluid in my rear diff. I was reading a couple of threads on here that mention a friction modifier if I have a LSD...how do I determine if I have an LSD or not?
On another note, the cab on the truck is badly rusted through at the cab corners and rocker panels. Has anyone used replacement panels from LMC truck?
Do they fit up well?
if you plan on keeping the truck a while, just bite the bullet and get high quality synthetic fluids. theyll keep your bearings alive longer, and you dont have to add any LSD modifier.
Your axle code is listed on the sticker in the drivers door jamb. If you have an owners manual, it will tell you what axle you have, or you can post the code here and I'm sure someone can tell you what axle it is.
Otherwise, just get a quality synthetic gear lube with the LS additive already in it as already suggested. Something like Mobil 1, Amsoil, or Valvoline synthetic.
