We are going to take advantage of the low finance rates and buy a new SuperDuty. The dealer is gonna give us $3200.00 for our 1996 Aerostar. Of course, I think it is worth much more. I thought I would go to the experts here and see what you think I could get for it selling it myself.
1996 extended XLT. 4.0 automatic w/overdrive
150,000 miles, rear air, no rust, one owner, never wrecked, oil changed every 4000 miles w/synthetic oil, green with toupe interior, michelins with 20,000 miles on them.
What do you think I should ask for it?
Watching Ebay for the past year, most in your model year and condition seem to sell for around $3300-$3500. The AWD version adds another $500 to $600. The trade in price doesn't sound too far off the mark, considering the dealership will expect to net around $1500 to $2000 in resale.
You might contact the poster 56MarkII via private email. He is a either a new or used car salesman and may shed additional light on the offer.
Best of luck with the new truck!

take that offer. trust me. my dad sells used high end vehicles in st louis mo. he manages a smaller car lot. i just got my 94 aerostar short 2wd with 100 000 miles on it. we only paid 500 dollars for it. so although thats the price with all the over head and extra charges removed. so id say that the offer the ford dealer gave you is very generous. id say go for it.
