Grill guard 64?

A long time ago (at least 12 years) my brother who owned my 65 bought a 64? parts track. On the front painted bumper was a HD steel grill guard. Was this an option? it has tubes that run trough holes in the rad support to the frame to keep it from pushing in.
I'm thinking of sand blasting it and putting it on my 65, unless its some price-less piece.

Depending on what style it is, they were available as a Ford accessory. It shows them in my owner's manual as an option.

my son's 63 had notched pieces in the grill from a grill guard. It had holes drilled in top of bumper too. I saw another one in a junkyard so it must have been a dealer option.

Yes it was a dealer option, and are fairly rare. They are pretty strong grill guards, and they bolt to your frame. I would definately clean it up and put it on, you hardly ever see them anymore. I'd like to clean mine up as well
