filler neck question

filler neck question
When I removed the metal filler neck there is a long hose connected to it that goes into the tank. what's that hose for some kind of venting ? Haven't seen that before.

Yes the small hose inside the bigger one is the vent (for filling the tank). If it is not there or crimped it will take FOREVER to fill the tank with fuel.
