Hey Brother glad to have a out west! I'm actually at Quantico right now til Nov 11 atthe SCETC school for the Civil Affairs Course, then it's back to MEF, but I'm originally a 6154. I had to smog my truck for the first time because it's registered in this bass ackwards state, but as long as you keep it registered in WA you're good to go. I gotta buddy that bought a 6.4 and has done the full DPF delete and spartan tuner deal, but since he's a AZ resident he never has to worry about it. So where you checking into? With the exception of 3 years of hell recruiting in NY, and deployments, I've been at Pendleton since 94.

OOHRAH!
Danny

Thanks for the straight stuff on smogging, Danny.

I knew if anyone knew for sure, you would be the one!

You better get back home out here before the weather turns nasty on you back there!

It's beautiful here!

No problem Marv, helping eachother out is what this site is all about! I don't come back til Nov 11th, and aside from obviously missing the family, I just gotta call to haul a trailer that I had to pass to a fellow transporter. Don't know if you knew or not, but I haul trailers and cars on the side to help with the bills Home Page is the site. Thankfully I haven't got pissed on yet, and it's actually not humid at all, amazingly! Tomorrow if we get off ealy again I plan on running up to see the Iwo Jima Memorial, thenext best thing to the Marines "Mecca". Also will see the White House, Pentagon, Washinton Memorial, the Museum of the Marine Corps, and the Vietnam Memorial too. So this trip is actually something good.

There's a memorial on Mt. Suribachi inre to the famous flag raising photo taken by Joe Rosenthal, but...

There should be another memorial on the Tarawa beaches, where Rear Admiral Richmond Kelly Turner met his Waterloo.

cmdevildog16,
Semper Fi!
Dont worry about SMOG, as long as you have out of state plates your good you will only need to SMOG it for base decals and its not a complete CA SMOG.
the California Vehicle Code states if you are on active duty Military and not a residence of CA you do not have to register your vehicle in CA, nor do you need a SMOG.

I was a former MP, 9th Comm BN huh... I hate to say it the place has a bad name for itself. dont get caught up in the drama.

If you need a "sponsor" lol PM ill give you my number, also the civies runnin base housing out here are (starts with a D rhymes with sticks) I had a hard time when I PCSd from Lej in 07. long story though. oh before I offer up a hand Igotta know are you a UW or WSU fan... cus I can have any of that nasty Purple in my truck, my ol ladys a coug alumni, and shel kill me if I make friends with a Husky... Ducks are fine though HA, hope to see ya around!
