If I close the idle mixture screw entirely, should the engine shut down? Mine just idles rough but keeps running.
When I look at the screw then pointed end has a small ridge in it. If you run a thumbnail over it, you can tell there is a definite small ridge. I've ordered a replacement, but before I change it out, am I right in assuming this point should taper smoothly?
If you turn the mixture screw all the way in, the engine should theoretically stall because you're cutting off the idle circuit from the intake stream.
The idle mixture screw should be smooth and taper to a point.
