Reman engine
Have a 92 F150 with 5.0 that has bent valves and possibly bent rods because of water ingestion. Decided to go with a reman, local stores have the following prices:
Orielly $1350 + core
Advance auto $1500 + core
Napa 1750 + core
Carquest 1750 + core
Any body have any other remans available or any bad luck with the above? They all are offered with 3 year warranty.

Get some prices from your local engine building shops. Around here I can get a 302 or 351w rebuilt for $1500. no core charge
That new everything (bearings, pistons ect), bored to true up the wall, racing heads, a cam of my choice ect.

My truck has a ford reman 460, I'm not impressed with the quality. It runs ok, but has a lifter tick and is kinda slow for a supposed new motor. I've been gathering parts to build another motor for when the reman poops the bed...
