94 ford explorer
i have a 94 ford explorer and the back hatch leaks everytime it pours rain.i noticed on the drivers side that there is a gap on the side of the hatch.is there a way to adjust the hatch ?the other side is fine.

I had a 1993 and d/n have this problem ever. BUT! Over the years I notices most doors are adjustable at their hinges etc. I feel you will find an adjustment needed or a rubber molding not sealing. Has the Lift Gate always leaked or has it been in an accident?? You know where the leak is now. Check it after adjusting from the inside while someone floods the seal from the outside (with water under press from a water-hose while both of you move section by section). It could be that you need to adjust it to compress the seal tighter. Be sure to mark the hinges or etc before you move them and try to move them w/o getting them too loose to control. Hopefully someone that has moved one will jump-in soon and give the fine pointers or etc. Good luck! jow

I recently messed around with my girlfriends 97 sport hatch. Fairly simple however it does require two people IMO. My hatch tweaked because of the lock rods bent inwards. This caused my hatch to tweak after hitting bumps..Check the locking rod to the left and right where the hatch locks in make sure they are also straight
