cant figure out electrical prob

I have a 2001 ford Excursion 7.3 limited. My prob is the light works, turn signals work and flashers work but when the flashers are on while im driving and hit the brakes the hazzards still flash. I thought for saftey reasons that the brake lights will override the flashers. Anyone might have a clue what it could be. thanks for looking.

I don't understand? From your description, you are running down the road with the hazards on? And they still flash when you hit the brakes?

Normal operation! Aren't the brake lights and hazards different lamps?

Great Bud thats good to know. Nope one lamp two filiment bulb.

OK....the parking light will remain lit.....

Just the opposite.
The hazard switch overrides the turn signal and brake light circuit in the multifunction switch.
The hazard lights should not be activated when operating the vehicle in normal condition.
