I was resently in an accident due to the fact that one of my brake lines burst on my 94 bronco. The line that burst was a Pro Comp steel breaded line. Now I have herd that rubber lines are better then steel breaded. Is this true? What is your opinion? Any advice?!?
Aren't steel lines just rubber lines with steel braid on the outside? I remember the main reason for steel lines is to get less flex out of the lines. Less flex makes better feeling brakes. I can't see a rubber line being stronger than steel braid.
I have been driving for forty years and have never had a rubber brake hose burst unless it has been damaged from road debris. As far as steel braided hose, the braid will help keep the hose safe from cuts when rock climbing or four wheeling in ultra rough terrain. Have a great day. Broncomule
